Generally I try to make self-prepared meals for myself and my family, but now that the school year is once upon us and five days out of the week are spent on a strict schedule, I’ll be dipping into our freezer stash once again. Ready-made meals are sometimes the way to go, and when we’re craving Italian, my go-to brand is Michael Angelo’s. Michael Angelo’s is a family-owned company that started in 30 years ago, with the use of the founder’s mother’s personal Italian recipes (read more about the history of Michael Angelo’s). Today Michael Angelo’s continues the tradition of small batch cooking, with their Italian dishes being created from scratch every day, then frozen in the perfect portion sizes for individual or family enjoyment. Michael Angelo’s small batch style of cooking, and the shipment of their freshly frozen products directly to grocery stores ensures that when you treat yourself or your family to their food, you’ll be enjoying freshness that is days, rather than weeks or months, old.
Michael Angelo’s recently gave us the chance to try their foods, and I wasted no time in picking up our favorites:
- Meat Lasagna: fresh beef and herbs, vine-ripened tomatoes, and premium cheeses including imported Pecorino
- Vegetable Lasagna: seven different crisp vegetables in place of meat, marinara sauce, artisan-style Ricotta cheese, and imported Mozzarella and Pecorino Romano cheeses
- Chicken Parmesan: Italian-breadcrumb breadded chicken breasts, vine-ripened tomato sauce, Mozzarella and Romano cheeses
What I love about Michael Angelo’s products is simply this: they are as advertised. They look, feel, smell, and certainly taste like authentic, homemade Italian dishes. And whether microwaved or heated up in a toaster oven or traditional oven, they come out looking, smelling, and tasting absolutely delicious.
Michael Angelo’s is certainly a favorite in our family, and for those must-have-lasagna nights when I don’t have time to put together my own dish, Michael Angelo’s is what we’ll be having!
